Much has been made about the sudden infatuation with sports and muscle cars at AMC in the late 1960s, and that’s evident here in this commercial for the 1969 AMX. Unlike the ads for the Rebel and Ambassador that we recently highlighted, this one scraps the pitchman approach and places an AMC owner in a situation, letting the narrator extol the virtues of the car. And rather than focus on rustproofing and warranties, AMC’s now showing off its product’s performance. Anybody recognize the actor here?
