Stefan Jacoby, the chief executive of Volvo Cars, was the keynote speaker today at the 2011 L.A. Auto Show. In a question-and-answer session with journalists, he was asked what Chinese ownership would mean to the company’s reputation for building safe cars. According to the New York Times, his response was, “We will not compromise on safety, quality or engineering excellence. Volvo will be even more ‘Volvo’ than before.”

Which raises the question: What’s the most ‘Volvo’ that Volvo has been up until now? What model best represents Volvoness to you, and why? And please, be as specific as you can. Let’s see if we can’t come to a consensus on this – we could be doing Mr. Jacoby a favor.
