I recently found myself in Ford’s image banks again and again made another withdrawal, this time of the above picture of a 1966 Shelby G.T.350H, cruising the pits at a sports car race, helmed (we suppose) by somebody taking full advantage of the Hertz weekend racer. Ford’s caption didn’t give us any details, so we’re led to fill in the blanks. I want to say that’s a Maserati Tipo 61 directly behind the Shelby (though I’m probably wrong), and I’m fairly confident that’s an MGB in the foreground. What’s the other car in amongst the pilings? And can anybody tell us whether this photo was taken at an actual race?
