The top sale from Mecum’s Kansas City Auction last weekend was this 1957 F-code Thunderbird, one of between 208 and 211 T-Birds built in 1957 with a McCulloch VR57 Phase II supercharger.

The car, which sold for $186,000, was restored by Hill’s Automotive of Racine, Ohio, and has won honors from the Classic Thunderbird Club International and Vintage Thunderbird Club International meets.

The sale’s number two earner was a 1969 Mustang Boss 429 that brought in $175,000, followed by a 1966 Corvette 427 “big-tank” (36-gallon fuel tank) coupe.

A 1957 E-code Thunderbird that sold for $132,000 and a 1969 Shelby GT500 that changed hands for $105,000 rounded out the top five at Kansas City.
