Chevrolet has slapped up a Facebook page devoted to gauging support for the (unlikely) return of the El Camino. The page’s best feature is the all-too-brief photo gallery that reminded me how I would like to own a ’59 or a ’60 El Camino before I get hauled off to the nursing home, mainly so I’ll have an age-appropriate place to park my spare 348 engine.
As far as a 21st century El Camino comeback, however, most Americans are about as interested in a two-wheel-drive, two-passenger truck as they are in pay phones and newspapers. Or compact pickups of any stripe.
So long still, Elky. See you in the pages of Hemmings Motor News.
