Jaguar is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and over those 75 years, the company has forged ties with plenty of other automotive companies across the world. So to celebrate the marque’s heritage and explore its history at the same time, let’s consider Jaguar for this week’s Hemmings Six Degrees of Automotive Separation.

Of course, the first link you’re all going to think of will be Ford. The second will likely be British Leyland or Tata. So let’s make this week’s challenge more challenging by forbidding the Ford link and strongly discouraging the British Leyland and Tata links. Sure, that only leaves you with something like 35 of those 75 years of history to deal with, but I’m sure that won’t be a problem for many of you.

This week’s challenge will also follow our fox-and-hound format, in which the first person to leave a comment here gets to suggest another company to connect to Jaguar in six degrees or less. Whoever successfully answers that challenge then gets to suggest another company to connect to Jaguar, and so forth. As always, a connection consists of one company owning another, merging with another or sharing another’s parts.
