thanks to Gooding and Co. for the nice image above of the Bugatti 35C from their recent Amelia Island auction
For this week’s Hemmings Six Degrees of Automotive Separation Challenge, we’ll move back into our familiar fox-and-hound format with a company that we’ve featured in the challenge more than a year ago, Bugatti. It’s also a company that can easily be connected to Volkswagen, one half of last week’s challenge.
But let’s make this a tad more difficult. The very first connection many of you will probably make is the one I just did, so let’s see how you can do without making the direct connection between Bugatti and its current owner. If you need to use VW elsewhere in the six degrees chain, feel free, but you get bonus points for not using the company at all.
For newcomers to the game, the fox-and-hound format works like this: The first person to leave a comment here gets to suggest another company to connect to Bugatti in six degrees or less. Whoever successfully answers that challenge then gets to suggest another company to connect to Bugatti, and so forth. As always, a connection consists of one company owning another, merging with another or sharing another’s parts.
