We here in the office are getting all geared up for the fourth annual New England Concours d’Elegance, scheduled for the weekend of July 16-18. Not a concours type? That’s alright – we have a cruise-in, tour through the Green Mountains and open car show scheduled for that weekend too. But, of course, the main event will be the concours itself, held on the Commons at Stratton Mountain, and this year, we’ll be celebrating several marques. Among those marques are Bentley and Citroën, which will make for an excellent Hemmings Six Degrees of Automotive Separation Challenge this week.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a regular Six Degrees challenge, where the point is simply to find as many ways as possible to connect the two auto companies in six degrees or less. Both of these companies survive and thrive today, so let’s add a degree of difficulty and restrict any connections you make to 1973 or earlier, our self-imposed cutoff date for examples of these two marques to be accepted into the concours. As always, a connection consists of one company owning another, merging with another or sharing another’s parts.
