Short one this week. Were this penned by anybody other than Bernie Weis, I’d have taken this article in SIA #71, October 1982, about the proposed resurrection of the Pierce-Arrow as a joke, an April Fool’s gag. Instead, Weis related the story of W.D. Thompson, who very earnestly intended to revolutionize the automotive industry single-handedly and chose Pierce-Arrow largely because he owned a few of them back in the day. Not to ruin the ending for you, but the title kind of gives it away.
