When the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association celebrated the centennial of the motorhome earlier this year, the history they provided seemed rather thin. I would’ve rather read a history more like the one Ray I. Scroggins wrote for SIA #77, October 1983, which starts with the Model T-based conversions and ran all the way through to the contemporary minivan-based RVs, giving space to many of the unique and noteworthy houses on wheels to come from individual innovators and mass marketers alike.
