It’s likely that there are countless reasons why a collector-car owner would want to install a power window system into his pride and joy. Everything from the “it’s just plain easier” mantra to pure aesthetics has been uttered, but the bigger question is what kind of system does one favor? The refurbishment of an OE system, or something more modern from an aftermarket supplier? Perhaps a system with updated safety features designed into it. Among the numerous suppliers providing more than one answer is SPAL USA.

SPAL recently introduced a new Push & Pull Switch Kit into it power window product line. Listed as part number 33040174, the universal two-door, three-switch kit has been designed to be flush-mounted to nearly any vehicle door – from hot rods to stock boulevard cruisers. As well as offering thermal overload protection, “the operators must pull the switch from underneath in order to roll up the window, thus helping reduce the risk of injury to a child who accidentally steps on or pushes down the switch,” according to SPAL’s director of consumer sales, Thom Balistrieri.

The kit, costing $53.93, includes three push-pull switches, one single switch frame, a double frame parallel, one horizontal double frame and a wiring harness, as well as a two-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship from the date of production. If this three-switch kit does not suit your needs, SPAL offers a wide variety of power window kits in 25 different configurations.
