Herb Miska, whose incredible scratchbuilt models inspired the recent posts on the scratchbuilt Pierce-Arrow dump truck and MacDonald low-loader, recently emailed us with a request. See, he’s been working on a 1/18th model of the 1914 Mercedes Grand Prix racer, but has hit a brick wall in his research on the car: He has yet to find any photos showing what the chassis looked like from the engine back. He put in a request with the Mercedes-Benz Museum, which responded with a couple photos of the car overall, but none of the chassis. We thought we’d pose the question here to see if our extremely knowledgeable readers can help this extremely talented scratchbuilder, and to show off Herb’s progress on the model to date.
