Noting all the attention we’ve given Ford factories in recent weeks here on the Hemmings Blog, Joe Hedio, aka diskojoe, thought we’d appreciate the above Martha and the Vandellas music video for their song, “Nowhere to Run,” which takes place inside a Ford assembly plant while it’s churning out Mustangs. Joe writes:

Judging from the “WTF” looks from some of the workers, I think this video was actually filmed during an assembly shift. By the way, the guy in the hat that you see in the beginning & the end was Murray the K, the NY DJ & self-proclaimed “5th Beatle” on whose show “It’s Happening Baby” the video originally appeared in.

Tell us, Mustang experts, which assembly plant this video was shot in? Given the Motown origins of Martha and the Vandellas, I would assume the plant was either Dearborn, Wayne or Wixom, the three Michigan plants Ford operated when Martha and the Vandellas released this song.

While we’re on the topic of music videos, Sebastin from Spain sent us a link to the video for Los Fabulosos Cadillacs’ song, “El Matador,” which features what looks like a LaSalle converted into a hearse in the same ornamental style as the Argentine Cadillac hearse and flower car that our friend Fernando Aguerre is restoring. Could this be another work by coachbuilder Hermida y Nazzi?
