We have to congratulate one of our favorite former HCC Auto Art profilees, graphic artist JoepeP (AKA Joe Pepitone), as he has created yet another visual masterpiece for an intriguing new Concours event. Well, the Utah Concours d’Elegance is not a new event, per se, this being its 39th annual happening, but it is new in the sense that this year’s show will be so much more than it has been, according to organizer Matthew Bowman.
“Joe’s artwork is more than a mere poster for yet another Concours. The Utah Concours is making a fundamental shift back to Concours standards, after a few years of slipping into mediocrity. Joe’s artwork is our ‘banner of excellence’ as we tell spectators, exhibitors, other Concours events and the media that this year marks an entirely new, spectacular event. I’m very excited to have Joe’s artwork serve as a poignant display of our massive effort to transform the event into a true Concours experience for spectators and exhibitors alike.
Some of the changes this year are 1) a new venue, illustrated by Joe’s artwork. We’re now meeting in the Thanksgiving Point Gardens, which boast the largest man-made waterfalls in the Western Hemisphere. 2) we have gone to great lengths to fill the show with Concours quality cars – cars that come from private collections that spectators may never see anywhere else. 3) a true Concours experience, with VIP sections, a partnership with the Arnold Friberg Foundation, flowing drinks and food, celebrities, politicians, and heads of industry.
If you can get yourself to Lehi, Utah’s Thanksgiving Point gardens on Saturday, August 28, the Utah Concours d’Elegance is shaping up to be an event to remember. Best of luck!
