It’s not much of a stretch to say that 2011 will be the year the 1977 AMC Hornet AMX gets the most notice since the car was new. First, a feature article on the Hornet AMX will appear in the July 2011 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines (using photos from the exact same photo shoot that so troubled Jeff Koch last year), detailing what makes these “decal GTs” so interesting and which well-known muscle-era marketer was behind the car’s genesis. Second, the first-ever Hornet AMX reunion will take place this summer.
Scheduled for July 30, the Hornet AMX reunion will coincide with the Kenosha Homecoming car show in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Scott Campbell, the organizer of the Hornet AMX reunion (and current owner of the Hornet AMX featured in Hemmings Muscle Machines), said he hopes the reunion will gather the largest assemblage of Hornet AMXs since they were new.
