The images are going to have to suffice for this one, because there’s not a lot of description from the seller. The XJC was the hardtop coupe version of Jaguar’s hugely successful XJ6 four-door sedan, produced in limited numbers. It was available with the V-12 or – as here – the 4.2-liter, DOHC straight-six. Stripping away the factory-standard vinyl roof makes these cars look so much more purposeful, and we love the look of this modified black cat, stripped clean of most of its bright moldings.
This car is evidently lowered, and wears 18-inch alloy wheels. Photos of the engine show three carburetors – as used in the E-Type – in place of the factory two, and there are probably more modifications that we can’t see. On the inside, cloth seats, a racing wheel and a five-speed (a guess) stick shift. According to the seller, all of the parts used are gen-u-ine Jag-u-ar.
From the seller’s description:
Jaguar 1976 XJC coupe, this one is our baby, it truly is one of the most gorgeous Jaguars one can ever see; we have such an affection for this custom built race car as we call it, because we built it and it is all and everything Jaguar; we spent countless hours and there is just too much to list; this timeless beauty simply has to be seen to appreciate because words alone just cannot describe it.
