Opportunities to buy a legitimate land-speed streamliner – especially one built by a hot rodding legend – come along once in a blue moon. However, in the wake of the Pebble Beach Concours’s display of historic lakesters and streamliners – a display that included Chet Herbert’s Beast III – we see that the successor to that car, Chet Herbert’s Beast IV, has come up for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:
1954 Chrysler, Chet Herbert Beast IV Ran at Bonneville in 1954 With a 331 Chrysler Hemi. Barris built body all aluminum featured in January 1954 Rod and Custom Mag. The car is in need of restoration. Lots of good documentation with the car as well as great original photos of the car racing and build shots.
