Bantam trailer

Recall from your Jeep history books that Bantam actually beat Willys to the punch on submitting a design for the Jeep, but never earned the big contract to produce the Jeep. Instead, as a sort of consolation prize, Bantam got to build the trailers that were often towed behind the Willys-built (and Ford-built) Jeeps. This Bantam trailer offered for sale on Hemmings.com is an immediate post-WWII successor to those trailers. From the seller’s description:

100% complete and original barn find with the original firestone tires in beautiful condition. No rot. It was originally red. All 1-7/8″ hitchs are green and it is green. Serial Number 19918. Original Bantam decal on rear cross member. Will need one tailgate hinge rewelded and the floor is dented. New rear reflectors and tarp are available. Otherwise sandblast and paint. This trailer even has the original taillight, license plate bracket and wiring harness. The rare original military style wiring plug is two prong since the trailer has only one taillight. This would make a museum quality piece with little effort.
