How’s this for a pocket rocket/hot hatch? Sure, this 1979 Abarth A112 displays more styling cues from the econobox 1980s than many admirers of European minicars seem to prefer, but it certainly follows the spirit of its predecessors with the tuned and scooped engine and lightweight wheels. From the seller’s description:
Rarely seen in the U.S., this A112 was imported from Italy by a Dutchman in Texas six years ago. It is a wonderful example of a front-engine/front-drive car that performs like no others. It is in great original condition having all of its original paintwork, interior and trim from new. Its light blue metallic paint is faded a bit, but still appears beautiful. Its tan velour and vinyl interior is quite comfy and very sporty down to its two-spoke Abarth steering wheel. It has an 8,000 RPM redline w/power to burn rubber, thanks to the technical aspect of the Abarth design. The Abarth extras include a front hood scoop that draws cool air into its motor and makes that complicated carb do its thing. It has upgraded suspension and exhaust system to really push this little car fast! It runs cool and sounds terrific. It also has a set of 13″ Campy wheels that fit well and look period correct.
