My mother has always referred to Karmann Ghias as “pickles.” I have no idea how that nickname ever came about, but in honor of her birthday today, let’s take a look at this pickle 1974 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia out of Claremont, California. From the seller’s description:
This car has been with only two owners for the past 18 years. Car has a solid floor pan, the engine starts the second you hit the key and it runs great. The 1600cc is the largest engine that was ever fitted to a VW Karmann Ghia by Volkswagen. The motor is peppy and it has that great classic Volkswagen sound as you cruise down the road. The car rides nicely and it steers comfortably and easily. The transmission shifts smoothly and easily. The top which is new goes up and down easily once you learn the process. This is the most advanced top and the rear window is made of glass. The interior has been redone and is in good shape. Radio is not original.
Happy Birthday, Mom!
