Hemmings Find of the Day – 1973 Ford Maverick

Written by webmin

If I had to take a wild guess, I’d say that the seller of this 1973 Ford Maverick would have enjoyed the Eliminator-era ZZ Top music videos I linked to last week. The colors, the cacti, the street rod interior (minus the cowgirl floating across the ceiling, unfortunately), the dual quads sticking out the hood, all come screaming out of the same mid-to late 1980s period. From the seller’s description:

Hey cowboy when is the last time you saw a hot Pro Street show and go Maverick?? Detailed and worked 302 Ford engine… two fours… mild cam… C-4 trans with a shift kit… custom paint in a Western mode… Grabber dual dome hood… custom tail lights from a Ford Torino… custom black and orange interior… tilt wheel… roll cage for the mean look… every gauge known to man… custom stereo system… special effects lighting in trunk… back seat… under dash… inside door panels… under hood… controls are on overhead console… narrowed rear.. air shocks… wheelie bars… bottom is painted gloss black… keyless entry… fuel cell in trunk… new Mickey Thompson tires… runs and drives great.
