It’s a shame the second-generation Mercury Marauder had to come about just as the earth-tone 1970s were beginning, because we see way too many of them in colors unbecoming a car with such an awesome name. It’s like giving the name “bearclaw” to a pastry. Still, the pastry is delicious, and Marauders, including this maroon-over-tan 1970 Mercury Marauder X-100 for sale on Hemmings.com, are wicked cool cars despite their color scheme. From the seller’s description:
429 4V, auto, PS,PB,PW,Air, All original except one repaint, original California car, no rust, near perfect interior, original vinyl top, runs great drive anywhere, Marti report, 2 0wner car, climate controlled storage
