Yes, somebody planted a SBC Buick 350 under the hood of this 1969 Jeep Wagoneer for sale on Hemmings.com. Is that a bad thing, really? Sure, it’s no longer original, and the engine choice is bellybuttonish. But on the other hand, this Waggy is meant to be driven, and even off-roaded, not parked in a show field for judges to criticize it. I’d rock it. From the seller’s description:
Rare 1969 fully loaded, Kaiser-Willys Jeep Wagoneer. Comes with automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes and power rear window. Comfortably seats a family of six like you were sitting on your couch at home! Smooth riding with style!
Professionally rebuilt GMC 350 motor. This baby has POWER! Odometer currently at 9K, but the engine has even fewer miles on it. New, professionally rebuilt transmission currently at 3K. New master cylinder, power booster, wiring and tires.
Interior is in great shape and has a full set of original rubber mats that cover carpets and rear area in their entirety. Body has only a tiny bit of surface rust and small amount in rear wheel well.
She also comes with a heavy duty power tow package, ready to pull your vintage Airstream just like the old Jeep Corp. ads! She pulls like there is nothing behind her!
This Jeep was born and raised in California and still has her original license plates. Because the owner purchased a 1969 at the beginning of 1970, the plates are blue and gold, not black and gold. I am only the second owner and have been restoring this vehicle for many years. All it needs is paint and you have a fully restored classic! NADA value is $13,000 after paint. I also have some extra parts and the ORIGINAL manuals!
