Since the start of the Great Recession, we haven’t seen nearly as many muscle cars touting high-quality restorations come up for sale as we saw during the boom years. That’s not to say they aren’t out there, as we see from this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 for sale on Hemmings.com, just that most of their owners have decided to sit on them (or actually enjoy them) while their values remain depressed. From the seller’s description:
This car would be an excellent addition to any muscle car collection. This car is restored to the highest quality concours standards of originality. This is a seven-year labor of love restoration project, which was completed in August of 2010. The goal was to have the highest quality original example of a numbers matching 1967 Chevelle Super Sport. This car can certainly be your next national show winner or cruise night car; it was built to be driven. This car sounds and runs like a muscle car should, with no disappointments.
I have invested countless hours in the nut and bolt rotisserie restoration of this car and have over $75,000 into this project. Other interests and projects have made me realize one of my beloved cars must go.
