The first million-dollar Shelby Mustang? We’ve seen Cobras break that mark before, of course, and we’ve seen Shelby Mustangs come up for auction with million-dollar estimates, but to the best of our knowledge, they’ve topped out in the $800,000 range. Of course, it’s provenance that’ll get you to that level, and this 1964 Shelby G.T.350 for sale on Hemmings.com has got it in spades. From the seller’s description:
This is one of three cars used in the Carroll Shelby School of High Performance Driving (now the Bob Bondurant School – one of the most successful in the world). All three cars used at the school were painstakingly modified by Shelby American and driven by some of the most famous drivers in the world. We know of the location of one of the other three cars. It is displayed at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. This is car #2 of 3, fully documented in the Shelby registry, completely restored to concours condition, and ready for museum display.
