If I had the time and energy, I’d like to do a little long-term experiment: Comb through all the collector-car classified ads I can find for any cars claiming to have once been owned by celebrities or politicians. Plot them on a timeline and see how they correspond (both individually and as a whole) to the prominence of said celebrities or politicians in the news. This experiment would probably provide more interesting results should you eliminate from the pool of candidate vehicles all the cars that can be verified to have once belonged to that individual. Not saying that Ronald Reagan was or wasn’t the prior owner of this 1965 Lincoln Continental limousine, as the seller claims, and not saying that the invocation of Ronald Reagan’s name has anything to do with his continued postmortem popularity among neo-cons and other Republicans. Just sayin’, that’s all. From the seller’s description:
An excellant running 1965 Lincoln Lehman Peterson! WOW! Reported to be Pres. Reagens’! (undocumented) Interior is original and usable. This car runs all day long with no problems. Has been driven below zero and above 100 degrees. Original divider window. Rides like a dream, no disappointments.
