Hemmings Find of the Day – 1960 A.C. Aceca

With the Tojeiro predecessor and the Cobra successor(ssssss), it’s far too easy to skip over the A.C. Ace as just the car that Shelby stuck a V-8 in. In actuality, A.C. built some intriguing cars based on the tube-chassis, independently suspended platform, including this 1960 A.C. Aceca for sale on Hemmings.com with the A.C. (not the Bristol) six-cylinder engine, a very Italian shape and that hatchback design. From the seller’s description:

Less than 18,000 original miles. Only 2 owners. Left Hand Drive. Original AC engine has been overhauled. Painted Pearl White, New Brakes and Tires, Red leather seats / dash with rich original patina. Interior needs work.

Vehicle Options:  Chrome egg crate grill, Louvered bonnet, 1,991cc  90hp Inline 6- cylinder OHV aluminum block engine, Triple sidedraft SU carburetors, Moss four-speed manual transmission, AC 3″ tube chassis, Smith odometer with integral clock, Smith gauges, 3-spoke banjo steering wheel, 4-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, Front and rear independent suspension, Girling hydraulic shock absorbers, Transverse leaf spring suspension, 16″ spoke wheels with spined hubs and 2 bar knock-offs, rear hatchback, Original owner’s manual.
