We thought, for a moment, we’d found in the Hemmings.com classifieds the same 1957 Chevrolet MP car that we saw at the New York International Auto Show, but upon closer examination, this 1957 Chevrolet MP car exhibits a few subtle differences (door lettering, roof bubble), which leads us to believe they’re different cars. Coincidence? From the seller’s description:
To the best of our knowledge: From a Chevy collector that happened to be a military policeman in ‘57 and drove a car identical to this one. Fully restored, very authentic. Has special vehicle tag on dash, working gumball light, working siren and it’s stripped of any options. There aren’t even armrests. Only a visor for the driver. Cigarette lighter, radio and clock delete. Has reproduction black wall tires. Has a few props, would be fun to collect more. This car runs and operates wonderfully. Of the 457 Chevys in his collection this is the one that he would most enjoy driving. Beautiful paint, interior, chrome, etc. Engine and trunk compartments restored. Solid underneath. One owner past 27 years!
