Hemmings Find of the Day – 1957 Buick Special

Written by webmin

Ready to put a little sweat equity into a car? From the pictures, it looks as though this 1957 Buick Special for sale on Hemmings.com is a solid car, ready for a quick and easy restoration. Despite being from the Northeast, the interior doesn’t appear rotted out, and the tinworm doesn’t appear to have munched too much on the body. Of course, I wouldn’t lay down a dime without seeing it in person, but that goes for any car. From the seller’s description:

1957 Buick Special 2-dr hardtop. Was running perfectly when my father parked it over 25 years ago. V-8, 321 cu.in., 2 bbl, auto, p/s, p/b. Car has been covered all this time. Body is straight and almost all there. As far as I know it is 100% original except for the interior and repaint. Some surface rust, all body panels seem solid. Cracked windshield, and a few missing lenses. All chrome and SS trim need restore but is in great condition. Wheels and bias belted tires (flat) look original. Car shows 34,200 miles. Sold as is for parts. There is no claim that the engine will run BUT it still has oil in it and the radiator is intact with water/antifreeze. It will need to be flat bedded out.
