Fortunately for this 1951 Jeep M38 for sale on Hemmings.com, it has appeared to have spent the majority of its life in Colorado rather than New England. Had it not been that fortunate, it would have long ago been pressed into plow truck duty and run like a dog until it rotted to the ground, regardless of the hardtop, the funky hoodscoop and the military history. From the seller’s description:
barn find, Korean war era Air Force veteran. Very solid Jeep in unrestored condition. A little rust in the drivers floor but other than that it has the most solid tub I’ve seen in a flat fender Jeep, no bondo. Good fenders. Someone cut a hole in the hood but an easy fix. Original L head engine and drive train. Engine turns over, tranny and transfer case feel good. Comes with a very rare arctic hard top and doors. Vehicle has been sitting 15+ years and was purchased from the original owner who bought it surplus in the 60’s. Missing seats, air cleaner, rear blackout lights and wiper motors, other than that it is 100% complete.
