It’s easy to assume that any stake-bed pickup nowadays uses a homebuilt or aftermarket bed, but look closer at this 1937 Ford 1/2-ton stakebed, and you’ll see that the platform is actually incorporated into the fenders. That’s because, starting that year, Ford did indeed offer stake and platform-bed pickups from the factory, with the platforms set at loading dock heights. From the seller’s description:
