Wednesday's dinner stop

Editor’s note: Due to technical difficulties, our coverage of last week’s VCRA rally was interrupted. We will continue to provide photos and reports from the rally this week.

Better results for Team Hemmings today, total time off perfect was plus 21 seconds with the team earning their fourth ace in four days. This moved them back up into first place in the Sportsman’s standings and up into the top twenty for overall standings for first three of the five days. Today’s lunch stop was Bardstown, Kentucky, and the town was out in force (including the town highway department doing some untimely construction). We thought both the food and hospitality were top notch and the sample bourbon bottles in the welcome bags were a cute little bonus. Southern fried chicken was a welcome change from BBQ pulled pork.

We got the nickel tour after hours at the museum.

Today’s leg ended at the National Corvette Museum where we were given a tour of the facilities and served a nice dinner. Thunderstorms threatened all day today however, most teams finished the day dry and temperatures were a little cooler. Several more breakdowns today and it appears two will be done raining for this week. Tomorrow finds the rally winding to the northwest with a lunch stop in Tell City, Indiana. It is also the last day any mulligans can be taken for a bad leg; Friday’s legs will all count, no matter what the outcomes.

One Corvette design idea we would have liked to have seen on the showroom floor.
