“Hard men who drove by night… on the wrong side of the law!”

In last week’s post on “Hell Drivers,” Gene Herman pointed out another postwar crime noir film that involves trucking, though this one in a more American style: “Thieves’ Highway” from 1949, which starred Richard Conte, Valentina Cortese, and Lee Cobb. As with “Hell Drivers,” the trailer didn’t show much of the trucking aspect – more of the mushy stuff – so we found the below clip of what seems to be a pivotal scene in the film.
