Happy what? Why, Happy National Collector Car Appreciation Day, of course. In order to “raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society,” ARMO and SEMA got the Senate to pass a resolution designating today as the first-ever NCCAD. There are a bunch of events all across the country tied into the event – check the list to find one near you.
I celebrated by bringing the mighty 1968 Rover 2000 TC to work today, and took a photo of it in the Hemmings parking lot. I wish I could say I’d flashed my headlights at other older cars on the road, as Meguiar’s suggests, but I didn’t see one in my half-hour commute. What do you readers think – is this Appreciation Day a good idea? Is it going to catch on? Have you heard about it where you live, and if you have, are you participating?
