You might recognize the folks from Galpin Auto Sports as the Pimp My Ride people, but owner Beau Boeckmann also has an eye on hot rodding history, as we’ve seen with his purchase and restoration of Ed Roth’s Orbitron. Galpin’s Steve Carpenter also reached into hot rodding iconography for his latest creation, the Galpin Gasser, a 1956 Ford Mainline two-door sedan modified into a straight-axle, fuel-injected gasser. Rather than hit the strip with it, Carpenter’s made it street-legal and has turned it into  his daily driver. It uses a Hilborn electronic fuel injection setup atop a 525hp Ford Racing 302 stroked to 331 cubic inches. A C4 automatic transmission and 3.90-geared 9-inch back up the 302.
