Firsts are where you find ‘em, and the more models done in scale, the tougher it is to find something that’s really new. And yet, Supercar Collectibles, those short-production 1:18 scale stalwarts, have done it again with their Sox & Martin ’71 Cuda by Highway 61. The model, with a production of just 750 pieces, is configured as it ran in AHRA Super Stock back in the day.

All the details are here: the correct run number (#114) in the window next to the crossed-out NHRA number in faux-shoe polish, the famous RWB paint with red front bumper, correct wheels and tires, and more. Shown is a prototype; actual models will receive chrome foil for the door lettering for that extra authentic detail. Don’t forget to take out the “real metal” hood pins (extras are included) when removing the lift-off hood. Other details include quarter side windows up, plus a very detailed 426 race Hemi with spark plug wires, tunnel ram, two Dominator carbs, fuel lines, throttle linkage, and throttle cable going up to the firewall. There also is a deep oil pan, cool can, and fender-mounted coil, all under the lift-off hood. Plus, check out the interior detailed with carpeting, real cloth seat belts, a four-speed shifter, a three-point roll bar, and a removed rear seat. It also has deep-dish Keystone mag wheels with good sized Firestone Drag 500 slicks on the rear, and open headers.

There’s more! These also feature an opening trunk, rear-mounted battery, and a rotating driveshaft when you spin the rear wheels. This will be a very limited run of just 750 made for Supercar Collectibles. Those on the Mopar Race auto-order program (MRa/o) will automatically receive these (a program for those wanting to get ALL the Mopar drag cars they have made). Or you can pre-order (reserve) these now with free shipping and handling if you order before the cars arrive at Supercar  Collectibles. Delivery in expected in early 2011. Cost: $89.95.
