We’re right about at the halfway point through the year, which means that it’s a good time to take a look back at the selections we’ve made for the Class of 1986 so far. These are all model year 1986 vehicles that we thought interesting, significant or otherwise desirable enough to possibly become collector cars now that they’ve all reached the 25-year threshold that many people and car clubs consider the cutoff for collectible vehicles. Some were new for 1986, some were on their way out that year, some were gimmes and some were stretches. But it’s a good bet you don’t see many – if any – of these cars still on the road today, so they’re all worth taking a second look:

Acura Legend and Integra
AM General HMMWV
AMC Eagle
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 and IROC-Z
Chevrolet Cavalier Z24
Chevrolet Monte Carlo Aerocoupe / Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2
Chevrolet Sprint
Dodge Omni GLH/GLHS
Dodge Ram and Ramcharger
Ford Taurus
Honda Accord
Hyundai Excel
Jeep CJ-7
Jeep Comanche
Maserati Biturbo
Mazda RX-7
Mercedes-Benz 300E
Mercedes-Benz 560SL
Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R
Oldsmobile Toronado
Toyota Supra
Yugo GV

Suggestions are welcome, so if you don’t see your favorite 1986 vehicle in the list above, let us know in the comments.
