More new Citroëns, more new Norevs: Hot on the heels of the replacement C3 and the new searching-for-a-slice-of-the-Mini-market DS3 come these stylish promo models by Norev. The revived French outfit has rarely missed an opportunity to make a 1:55-ish scale model of a brand-new French car over the past 10 years.
What we see here has become typical for Norev: no opening features, separate headlamps with painted taillamps, prototypical wheels on torsion-bar suspension snapped into a black plastic chassis, and all correct badging. The DS3’s roof is molded in with the glass, all the better to model flush glass fittings in scale. Each model is available in multiple colors; we chose the robin’s-egg blue for the new C3 and its panoramic windshield because that was the color used in various European road tests when it launched, and we went with the white and blue DS3 because the other colors were just too dark to show off any detail.
We got ours from Tiny Toy Cars, although most French Citroën dealers should have some of these in their parts department, if you’re out that way.
