The second annual National Collector Car Appreciation Day is coming up soon, and Hemmings has two opportunities for you to come celebrate with us.
First, if you haven’t yet seen Cars 2, save that viewing for the next Hemmings Cruise-In, scheduled to take place July 8 at Hathaway’s Drive-In Theatre in nearby North Hoosick, New York. Gates will open at 3 p.m., and when dusk falls, we’ll be treated to screenings of Pixar’s latest as well as of Two-Lane Blacktop. For more information, see our cruise-ins page.
Second, we’ll be partnering with American Collectors Insurance for a show and bash down at their headquarters in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The festivities there will start at 4 p.m., and because space is limited, we suggest you RSVP if you plan to attend.
If you don’t live close enough to attend either of these two events, there are still plenty of other shows, cruise nights and events taking place that weekend across the country. SEMA has a thorough listing of those events. And if you happen to see either Senator Jon Tester of Montana or Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina, the two men who sponsored the legislation that designates July 8, 2011, as National Collector Car Appreciation Day, make sure to let them know how much you appreciate the hard work they’re doing for automotive hobbyists in Washington.
