Roughly 60 kilometers southeast of Edmonton, in Alberta, Canada, there are approximately 365 Cadillacs and countless associated parts looking for a new owner: After 27 years of business, C.R. Auto is closing its doors.
According to a report that surfaced in both the Edmonton Journal and Montreal-based The Gazette, Andrew Berfelo, 64, has opted to sell the family-owned business, which is located in Hay Lakes. He took over the business in 1989, after the passing of his brother, Randy, who had started the operation as the result of a restoration he was performing on a 1962 Cadillac. Sadly, the property has to be void of cars and parts by the fall of 2011, or it’s likely that another chunk of usable parts and/or restorable cars will fall victim to the recycling man.
