It was more than a little surprising to find among the lots at this weekend’s Barrett-Jackson‘s Las Vegas show this collection of nine vintage John Deere tractors. According to the auction house, it’s a first for them.
The tractors are from the estate of Rudolph James “Rudy” Lechtenberger, a Midwest farmer and industrial arts teacher who died in 2007. The group includes a 1941 John Deere Model D, an unstyled 1937 Model A and a 1941 Model A, a pair of Model Bs, a pair of Model Gs a 1946 Model H and the only non-letter series tractor of the bunch, a 1958 Model 520.
