While walking around Amelia Island, I noticed several stylized letters, such as the flying A above, and wondered if I could make an entire alphabet using only standalone automotive ornaments and emblems. I actually was able to gather about half a dozen at Amelia, and I think I may already have another half a dozen in my archives.
Your challenge is twofold: First, tell me what the flying A above came from. Second, see if you can locate photos of other A’s to include in our alphabet. Rules (just to add a degree of difficulty): The letter must stand separate from other letters, so you can’t just, say, crop out everything but the A in American Motors. The letter, however, doesn’t need to actually stand – it can be in a surface-mounted emblem. If you got ‘em, drop ‘em in the Hemmings Nation Flickr pool, then post a link here.
