I couldn’t find out too much about this sale; I consider myself lucky to have come up with the flyer, frankly. Nor do I know much about Gary Kolthoff – he’s apparently in Iowa, and not reachable at his Missouri office. The elderly dear who took my address (so she could mail me the sale bill) had a hard enough time with that, so I wasn’t about to grill her on further details. Just figuring out where it is was hard enough, but I put it just north of Fremont, Missouri, which at about 140 miles west of Springfield is a good approximation of the middle of nowhere. On the other hand, St. Louis is in distant reach, so I’d think there’s a chance that a certain high-profile dealer up there might make an appearance. But without much of a profile, little advance notice and no online bidding, there could be some cheap cars moved.
You can draw your own conclusions from the bill below: 30 Mopars and a handful of other cars, all pre-1973, most 1966-’69. Eleven Newports, three Imperials, four Town & Countrys, three New Yorkers, and eight wagons among them. You kind of have to wonder about the parts associated with a collection like this, where Ramseys clearly liked their 383s and 440s.
Condition? Likely not great, but on the other hand they don’t salt the roads down there. Take some photos for us if you go.
