When we last heard from our friend Fernando Aguerre regarding the pair of Hermida y Nazzi-bodied Argentine Cadillac funeral cars, he was well under way with the restoration of the flower car. Now we’re pleased to report that Fernando has finished that car’s restoration and is preparing for the more labor-intensive task of restoring the companion hearse. Fernando writes:

Hopefully what we learned in the restoration of the first car, will allow us to do it in a bit shorter time… the first one took almost 5 years…. the biggest slowing down? The difficulty in finding 1942 Cadi parts as that year model were only made for a few months, before production went 100 percent to support war effort.

For you eagle-eyed readers, Fernando also notes that the flower car had already been converted from a column-shifted transmission to a floor-shifted one when he bought the car, so he simply left it as is. Fernando has promised to keep us posted on his progress with the hearse. Job well done, Fernando!
