We were waiting for this to happen and it did – at Hershey, of course! Saturday is the big car show of spectacular original-type collector cars and trucks, of which some 1,320 were registered this year; but sitting quietly among the Duesenbergs, Cadillacs and Packards was this incredible 1984 Plymouth minivan. And all this time you thought they’d all rusted into oblivion.

Owner John LaBar bought the Plymouth family hauler from its original, old-lady owner, who had driven it sparingly; hence the van’s interior is absolutely immaculate, although John did have the exterior repainted due to numerous scratches and minor dents. Say what you will about minivans, but these Chryslers are without question one of the most significant vehicles in automotive history. And now that they are more than 25 years old, they qualify to take part in AACA meets. Just think, in 2011, Ford’s Aerostar will be eligible too! So be there to find out … we will.
