It’s always a shock to see somebody other than Tom McCahill writing about cars for Mechanix Illustrated (Frederick C. Russell, the writer of the Car Care Clinic, seemed confined to the back third of the book every issue), but in the June 1953 issue, we came across this brief Maxwell Innes article on Pegaso’s sports cars. He seems to be impressed with the fact that Dominican Republic Generalissimo/President Rafael Trujillo bought one. Presumably, the Pegaso was too small to be used as another carro de la muerte, as his Packard was previously used.
