Whenever I go on a photo shoot, I always try to match the location to the car. Muscle cars do well in gritty industrial areas, trucks from the 1950s do well in farm settings, etc. The sellers of this 1947 Talbot-Lago Record T26 obviously feel the same way, considering the European castle setting for the photos and video that accompany the classified. Well done. From the seller’s description:
The wonderful coachwork was designed by the grand master Figoni for his friend Anthony Lago, owner of Talbot. The interior is sumptuous – soft, solid leather and a lot of delightful details confer to this car an extraordinary charm. The 4.5 liter six cylinder engine provides an awful 170 horsepower and a torque of 200 Newton meters and has a double overhead camshaft.
The second owner of the car has undertaken a complete restoration in the 1990ies. Highest importance was given to the originality of the car. After this long and costly restoration, the Talbot passed a couple of years in the Geneva museum of classic cars. After that, it was given back to the traffic by an engaged enthusiast. Today, the Talbot is in very good shape and has a lovely patina. It is very reliable and powerful and is a great pleasure to drive.
