There’s no way you could have seriously followed auto racing in the 1970s, 1980s and beyond and not heard of, or probably admired, the exploits of Bobby Rahal. He’s one of the people who could convince anyone that good things happen in this country. An Ohio native and Denison University graduate, Rahal was arguably the very best amateur American road racer of his era when he turned pro.
Rahal went on to win the Indianapolis 500 as both a driver and a car owner, won both Sebring and the 24 Hours of Daytona, drove for the short-lived Wolf team in Formula 1, ran the Jaguar F1 team for the Ford Motor Company and through Rahal Letterman Racing, brought Honda to Indy.
