I was extremely pleased to see Dick Vecchiarelli’s Haflinger roll up to our open car show at Stratton Mountain a few weekends ago, and not just because tiny, obscure four-wheel-drive military vehicles warm the cockles of my cold greasy heart. Instead, I knew right away that the Haflinger would make for an excellent subject in the Hemmings Six Degrees of Automotive Separation Challenge.
As with the last couple of Six Degrees challenges, this week’s is an unrestricted fox-and-hound type challenge. That is, the first person to respond gets to suggest an automotive company to connect to the Haflinger in six degrees or less. Whoever answers that challenge gets to suggest the next company to connect to the Haflinger, and so on and so forth. As always, a connection consists of one company owning another, merging with another or sharing another’s parts.
BTW, ignore the BMW badge on Dick’s Haffy. Dick is a peculiar sort, the kind we admire here at Hemmings.
