We keep saying that original cars are one of the hottest trends in the hobby right now, and that’s because we keep coming across cars that illustrate that point. Take, for instance, this 1949 De Soto Custom convertible for sale on Hemmings.com, one of 3,385 built that year, which recently emerged from a Rip Van Winkle nap still wearing its original paint. From the seller’s description:
This car was recently purchased from its original owner and was well maintained and cared-for. It has been stored inside a garage for the last 40 years. In very good condition! 6-cylinder, 236-cubic-inch engine, fluid drive transmission. Car runs. Still has original paint and interior. Needs new tires and brakes. Car is sold as is.
